Our story
Deep in the 1990s, two men meet in the offices of the first Czech mobile operator: Miroslav Král and Tomáš Ševčík. Mirek is a spirited innovator and strategist with a head full of visions and ideas. He is not satisfied with anything that is not perfect, and he places high demands on his colleagues. Tomáš is a calmer, more patient and non-conflictual manager who can keep projects under control. He proceeds systematically, sees the big picture, and guards the finances.
Thanks to the intensive cooperation between Tomáš and Mirek, they find that they complement each other perfectly. Their paths diverge for a while, but when they meet again years later, they decide to start their own joint business after a key business trip to Canada. In 2010, the digital agency Marketup was established, which benefited from the then huge boom in digital marketing in the Czech Republic and throughout Europe. In the beginning, Mirek and Tomáš call clients from the coworking Hub, deploy campaigns, and do everything themselves. They work 12 hours a day, often on weekends.
Three years later, Marketup already has several permanent employees and a turnover in millions. It moves two times to bigger spaces, wins prizes in competitions and deploys hundreds of successful campaigns. Mirek finally finds free time for motorbike rides, Tomáš can take his family on camping trips. They don’t have to work hard on the weekends anymore :-)
Today, the agency operates as a well-oiled machine with a turnover in hundreds of millions. And it is waiting for you to write the next chapter of its story.
