For the first time, our founders Miroslav Král and Tomáš Ševčík meet for work. At that time, they were united through careers in technology-oriented multinational corporations, where both held important positions.
Mirek and Tomáš meet as experienced ‘matadors’ at an important crossroads in their lives. Because they complement each other perfectly as personalities and colleagues, they decide to set up their own digital agency Marketup. The common vision is to develop online marketing in the Czech Republic and to bring innovation to their clients.
Initially, they call clients themselves, create performance campaigns, take care of finances, go to trainings, and do everything necessary. They remain true to their vision and are one of the first to expand their services on Google and Seznam platforms, and to start advertising on Facebook.
A record number of new clients are acquired, including FMCG companies such as Hamé. Marketup also manages YouTube ads for this brand, making it one of the first advertisers on this platform in the Czech Republic. Marketup is also among the first to use BrandLift to measure the impact of the marketing. For the second year in a row, it used the Adform program advertising system.
The video campaign for Hamé on YouTube was so successful that Mirek presented a case study at the Google CEE conference in Prague that year. He later shared this experience by presenting the video ad at Google Partners Accelerate in Dublin. The agency gained a significant new client, A3 sport, and so begins another long-term relationship.
The agency moves to a modern, glazed office space in Anděl. Turnover climbs to 60 million. Google ranks the agency among the 10 largest, so-called key partners, whereas Facebook ranks the agency among the 5 largest partners in the Czech Republic. The agency also manages campaigns in several European markets as well as elsewhere in the world.
The team already numbers over 30 people, creating a middle management within the agency. The company acquires an important client, the BILLA. Seznam.cz ranks the agency among the 10 largest certified Sklik agencies. The agency is ranked among the finalists of the Google Premier Partners Awards in the Video Innovation category.
The company transforms from a digital agency into a full-service communication agency, acquiring a major T-mobile client. For the second year in a row, the agency achieved the position of finalist in a Google international competition.
The company's turnover reaches 156 million. With the expansion and the creation of new departments, large new clients such as Unihobby, Decathlon, XXXLutz, AXA Assistance and Pražská Plynárenská join our roster.
Marketup manages advertising budgets in excess of CZK 250 million, works with more than 70 clients, has over 50 employees and is one of the most successful agencies on the market.
